It’s a Double Feature on Pod Sematary! Chris & Kelsey burn down their exhibition for the insurance money and coat dead bodies in paraffin!
The Original: House of Wax (1953)
"An associate burns down a wax museum with the owner inside, but [the owner] survives only to become vengeful and murderous” (IMDb.com). One of Vincent Price's first big horror roles and an early example of the 3D spectacle, House of Wax (itself a remake of 1933's Mystery of the Wax Museum) ended up being much, much better than its lack of notoriety might suggest.
The Remake: House of Wax (2005)
"A group of unwitting teens are stranded near a strange wax museum and soon must fight to survive and keep from becoming the next exhibit” (IMDb.com). Surprisingly, though this "remake" has little to do with its 1953 predecessor, this version manages to be a cut above its schlocky mid-2000s brethren.
